FUNDRAISERS
Gifts For Grub
We have done our annual Christmastime toy-drive for the past 20 years. New toys are donated in exchange for a hot meal during the fundraiser dinner. We collected 240 toys last year, many of which go to children of families who make specific requests from the Ugly's of Haines. The rest of the toys are donated to the local Salvation Army for distribution to other kids in need. Club members donate a collective 50-60 hours of their time for this event!
It is traditionally held on the second Saturday of December each year and furthers our cause of providing accessible kindness experiences to our community.
Fair Booth
Each year we run a fair booth that sells corn on the cob and pulled pork sandwiches to raise money for our scholarship program. More than 100 collective hours are donated to this fundraising event by club members.

SCHOLARSHIPS
Annual Financial Support for Haines Graduates and Alumni

The Ugly's of Haines donates $10,000 annually to graduates and alumni of Haines High school. These are broken down into:
-
Five "Leg-Up" Scholarships | $1,000* each | for continued education
-
One Vocational Trade School Scholarship | $5,000 | for attending trade school

Applications for scholarships are available each year on the Haines School website and from the school counselor. Sample applications are linked below. We receive at least 30 applications for these scholarships each year and spend at least 30 hours collectively to consider the applicants and select the most qualified. Of course, the scholarships we offer further our overall mission and purpose, providing accessible kindness experiences to our young community members.
